His recent passing has brought him into the spotlight over the last few weeks, which I would imagine is making him roll over in his grave. Berry’s work is a beautiful resistance to the pace and consumerism of today.

The Odyssey
Like so many of you, we experienced the masterful film this summer, or rather, Jess, the two older boys, and I did. Our family loves Christopher Nolan. It was one of the biggest (and loudest) films I’ve ever seen in theaters.
Hummingbirds
I’ve hit that point in life where I’m making hummingbird food every week or so and I’m not mad about it. It happens to the best of us.
Lectio 365
Life and culture push us into the fast lane. Finding ways to slow down isn’t just beneficial, it’s vital. And it takes work. There are a lot of great mindfulness apps out there (Headspace, Calm, etc). Lectio 365 is Christian-prayer-focused and has been a great resource for changing my pace.
What have you noticed lately?
I’ve also been on a Wendell Berry fix. I read this[1] every morning like a meditation for pretty much the whole month of June.
