Five (Six) Favorite Books of 2022
I decided five (six) book recommendations are better than ten.
Happy Tuesday.
I set out to read 50 books this year. Well, I almost made it…I read 41. Next year, maybe?
I have more screenshots than I can count of book covers I’ve saved from those I follow on social media. I love the simplicity that comes with a photo or cover art and a sentence or two on why one is drawn to a book. I’ll peruse reviews often in search of a next read, or to validate one I’m about to begin, but what resonates with me most is a personal recommendation.
So here are my five (six) recommendations from my list of 41 from 2022:
ONE: A Burning In My Bones
“Eugene wasn’t interested in most things everyone else was talking about.” And no, I don’t think that by the end of this book Eugene was a Universalist; but if so, I guess I am too.
TWO: Sea of Tranquility
Masterful storytelling that seems to evoke child-like feelings of wonder and magic.
THREE: North! Or Be Eaten
An exciting, emotional family adventure tale. Peterson loves his footnotes. He uses them creatively, but often. Like every-other page.
FOUR: Scary Faith
Practical and engaging encouragement on how to live boldly. Also, my friend wrote a book.
FIVE: Amari and the Night Brothers
Surprise favorite fiction book of 2022. Begging my kids to read it now.
SIX: Marketing Made Simple
A blueprint for how to share your message. Concepts and practices I will use for the next 30 years.
BOOKS I’VE JUST FINISHED AND BOOKS I’M READING NOW
Are you reading something that I should?
Let me know. I’d love to hear your book suggestions!
